Our care philosophy is simple;
Meet the basic needs of our animals at a high level while doing our best to facilitate a natural process.

Rotational
Grazing

We use rotational grazing to ensure our cattle are grazing nutrient dense, green pastures with beautiful grass and other native plants in our region.

Our goal is to improve soil quality over time to conserve the grazing resources we have for generations.

Interaction

Interacting with our Highlands is one of our favorite parts of this lifestyle.  We often greet them with treats and pet or brush them when they want it.

Usually, when we walk in the pasture and shake the treat bucket, they come running over to mingle.

We love it.

Less Stress
Is Best

A core principle of our husbandry is: less stress is best.  Every cattle operation requires working and moving the animals.

Loving, respectful and humane treatment of our Highlands is top priority during all necessary tasks from the moment they are born here.

We advocate for as little chute time and needle pricks as possible.  We don’t vaccinate our cattle and only give them medicine if needed.

Let’s be honest, going to the doctor is nobody’s favorite.

It’s easy to feel a strong sense of gratitude learning from and growing with our Highland friends.
They are intelligent, genuine, loving and honest.  It’s truly our pleasure to work with them.
